Day 30: Whatever tickles your fancy...last day of 30 day Bloggers Challenge. Whew!

Sara Bareilles
So, I've finally finished my 30 day bloggers challenge & it was actually very fun to do!  I'm not sure how much I'll update it from here on out but it was great to have a little fun posting my thoughts.  I think what tickles my fancy lately is listening to Sara Bareilles.  She has an exquisite voice that's so jazz & mixed with a modern feel.  And...who's that guitar playin hottie she has in the background!!??  I give props to Sara B. for picking a band member who's eye candy for the rest of us.  The song I can't ever get sick of is 'King of Anything' so here are the lyrics & very fun video below :)

"King Of Anything"

Keep drinkin' coffee
Stare me down across the table
While I look outside

So many things I'd say if only I were able
But I just keep quiet
And count the cars that pass by

You've got opinions, man
We're all entitled to 'em
But I never asked

So let me thank you for time
And try to not waste any more of mine
Get out of here fast

I hate to break it to you babe
But I'm not drowning
There's no one here to save

Who cares if you disagree
You are not me
Who made you king of anything
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died
And made you king of anything
You sound so innocent
All full of good intent
You swear you know best

But you expect me to
Jump up on board with you
Ride off into your delusional sunset

I'm not the one who's lost
With no direction oh
But you won't ever see

You're so busy makin' maps
With my name on them in all caps
You got the talkin' down just not the listening

And who cares if you disagree
You are not me
Who made you king of anything
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died
And made you king of anything

All my life
I've tried
To make everybody happy while I
Just hurt
And hide
Waitin' for someone to tell me it's my turn
To decide

Who cares if you disagree
You are not me
Who made you king of anything
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died
And made you king of anything

Who cares if you disagree
You are not me
Who made you king of anything
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died
And made you king of anything

Let me hold your crown, babe
Oh oh
Ah

Day 26 — Blog challenge: Write a love letter to yourself

Dearest Lovely Rebecca,

You are dynamite!  Superb! Fantastic!  I love everything about you from your ever changing hair color to your very occasional snort giggles that tend to make some people pause & have a moment of reflective silence afterwards.  I think it's fascinating you can only recognize things by sight & not by street name since you are an artistic/memory by sight type of lady but makes it hard for friends & family to find their way to your home sometimes.
You can pick up almost any talent quickly whether it comes to, painting, drawing, cake decorating, dance, instruments or singing...and with great skill too!
You tend to care a great deal for the people you love in your life & value family more than anything.
Just smiling & laughing alone can light up a room.

Love,
Yourself :)

Day 25 — Share a story from your childhood

When I was younger I remember some of the best times spending it with my brother.  As a little girl he was after all my best friend.  One memory I have is back in our old home in Greenwood Village.  My brother James & I woke up one Saturday morning & decided to sliding down the stairs in our sleeping bags.  It was a pretty steap staircase from what I remember so we'd shoot down like torpedos & had such a great time doing that.  It's the little things that stick out...Saturday mornings, sleeping bags & lots of laughter.  Such fun times!  Occasionally my Cousins would join in too :)

Day 24: Your Favorite Shoes

  HOT! HOT! HOT!
Louboutin & Roger Vivier create beautiful shoe art.  As an enthusiastic high heel lover these designers make both feminine & artistic classics that look stunning on a woman's feet.  Too bad they make it so gosh darn expensive~

Day 21: A Recipe...You're gonna wanna copy this one down ;) I promise!

I'm about to share a secret that I actually like to keep secret for a reason.  Because this recipe is AMAZING & a hit at any party.  I decided I shouldn't be selfish anymore ;)

Drum roll please..............

POPPY SEED CAKE
Pre-Heat oven to 350 degrees.  This recipe makes two loaves or 1 bundt.
(I tend to mix the dry & wet in separate bowls & then combine into one large bowl)
Bake for 1 Hour.

Ingredients needed:
3 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 1/2 tsp Salt
3 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups Milk
1 1/8 Cups Vegetable Oil *Do not use Canola...ick!*
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
1 1/2 Butter Extract
2 Tblspns Poppy Seeds

Glaze
*I prefer to double this recipe..makes the cake much more moist*
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Orange Juice
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Almond Extract
1/2 tsp Butter Extract
(Cook two minutes on stove making it into a sauce) Let cool.

After the cake is lifted out of the pan go ahead & take a knife & poke a lot of holes into the cake & let cool for 15 minutes.  I then take the glaze & pour it all on.
Enjoy!!!!!

Day 20: A hobby of mine

Charcoal Art

There's something about art that's too much fun!  I love to make charcoal art drawings & even though I won't ever be a Van Gogh it's a nice peaceful kind of hobby to have & create a beauty all it's own on paper.
